The rebate
You don’t. Not in the sense of filling in a form and waiting for money back. The government discount for a heat pump hot water upgrade is applied at the point of sale, which means it has already been taken off every price on this page. Separately, if your job is large enough, a 0% interest NSW Home Energy Saver Loan is available.
Heat pump hot water upgrades qualify for discounts under the NSW Energy Savings Scheme and Peak Demand Reduction Scheme. These are claimed by an accredited provider on your behalf and come straight off the installed price. No form, no receipts, no waiting for a refund.
The property must be in NSW. Social housing and short-stay accommodation aren’t eligible. We confirm your property qualifies before quoting.
This income test applies to the NSW Home Energy Saver Loan only, not to the discount above. Assessed on total annual taxable income for the household, not per person.
Brighte’s smallest loan is $2,000, measured on the GST-inclusive job total. The minimum $220 deposit comes out of that total rather than sitting on top of it: on a $2,000 job you pay $220 up front and repay the remaining $1,780 over your term. The EG-330FR at $1,999 + GST clears the threshold; the two smaller models are usually paid outright.
Up to $15,000 over up to 10 years. A $4.99 late payment fee applies if a repayment is missed, capped at $49.90 a year.
The NSW Home Energy Saver Program also includes a separate discount of up to $4,000 for lower-income households, delivered by Creditex. Applications for that discount are not open yet and it is not part of the pricing shown here. Program rules are set by the NSW Government and can change. Current eligibility criteria are published at energy.nsw.gov.au.
Finance
Brighte is one of the finance providers appointed by the NSW Government to deliver Home Energy Saver loans. If your household qualifies, you can spread the cost of your upgrade over up to ten years without paying interest on it.
You’re not required to use finance. Pay in full and there’s no deposit or finance involved at all, it’s simply optional.
